Integrating Disparate CRM Systems in the Cloud

Integrating Disparate CRM Systems in the Cloud

Trillium was able to help this large healthcare information group integrate the disparate CRM systems in the cloud. Having grown through mergers and acquisitions, the company had multiple, disparate sales and CRM systems. Previous attempts to integrate the systems had failed, so the company had three sets of price lists, commission structures, product lists, and CRM data. This disconnect had an adverse effect on sales productivity and operational efficiency.

The client was a market-leading information products company serving more than 2,000 hospitals and large U.S. pharmaceutical manufacturers in the healthcare industry. The company maintains one of the nation’s largest healthcare databases, which contain data on more than 25 million discharges per year from nearly 3,000 hospitals, representing over 75 percent of all discharges. After a third attempt at implementing a major enterprise initiative was in jeopardy, our challenge was to identify specific problem areas and to develop and carry out effective solutions.

How We Solved It

Trillium helped the company first overcome organizational and procedural issues and then develop its own cloud-based enterprise-wide CRM solution

Results

  • Realized a 40% gain in operating efficiency
  • Achieved cost savings by retiring two legacy sales force automation systems
  • Substantially increased the company’s valuation when acquired

Quickly Developing Critical Cloud Applications

Quickly Developing Critical Cloud Applications

In developing a new cloud services product offering, the client determined late in the development cycle that a user-provisioning system was critical to the project. As one of the world’s largest communications companies, this services would allow third-party developers to access the client’s telecommunications infrastructure for location and mobile services, as well as provide access to membership provisioning information for other internal applications. Trillium was called in to facilitate the development of this critical application in order to launch it at the same time as others already under development.

The other cloud applications had already achieved several milestones. Trillium’s challenge was to introduce the new application development project without jeopardizing the progress. Most importantly, the Trillium team needed to ensure that the new application would interface seamlessly with the others in the cloud – and do it all within the project time frame and budget despite the late start.

How We Solved It

Trillium facilitated joint system requirements, weekly architecture sessions, and proactive issue monitoring and resolution

Results

  • Created a hub for all cloud service products
  • Delivered the project aead of time and on budget
  • Mitigated risk to systems already in development

Simultaneous IT Upgrade and Physical Relocation

Simultaneous IT Upgrade and Physical Relocation

Trillium simultaneously coordinated a production upgrade and infrastructure relocation for a leading retail technology company. This client provides retailers with in-store customer behavior tracking devices. To improve its services, the client embarked on a major system upgrade. At the same time, it scheduled a relocation of its physical IT infrastructure. The company planned to move its development server, new Oracle portal server and primary backup server to one locations, while other servers would be moved to the client’s new office space.

Even a typical technology infrastructure transition is an exhaustive test of an IT organization’s ability to re-establish its computing services to a new location with minimal impact to business operations. The client acknowledged that its project was far too complex for its internal resources to handle, so management called Trillium.

How We Solved It

Trillium employed its IT Transitions® methodology to reduce downtime and ensure business continuity during the move

Results

  • Reduced system downtime from a planned 48 hours to just 4 hours
  • Mitigated risk through Trillium’s hour- by-hour planning and communication
  • Streamlined move to new VOIP phone system for a 20 percent cost reduction

Multi-Faceted Product Management

Multi-Faceted Product Management

This Chicago-based non-profit organization is recognized as the “gold standard” in physician certification. It assists 24 individual approved medical specialty boards in developing standards and programs for ongoing physician evaluation and certification.

Traditionally, evaluations were performed using computer-based training with programs on CD-ROM disks. That approach required hardware and software to be installed in all 24 board locations, an undertaking which proved too expensive for 15 of the smaller client boards. Our challenge was to enable all 24 client certification boards to cost-effectively implement a new web-based certification program.

How We Solved It

Trillium drove the business strategy, vendor selection, and management of content development for a Web-Based Patient Safety (WBPS) project serving over 800,000 physicians

Results

  • 15 smaller certification boards gained access to web-based training with no implementation costs
  • Over $500,000 generated per year through physician participation
  • ROI in just two years, with projected revenue gain of over $800,000 in five years
